MultiMediaCard Association Announces MMCplus and MMCmobile Cards
The MultiMediaCard Association (MMCA) today introduced the MMCplus(TM) and MMCmobile(TM) product names and logos for memory cards built to the previously announced high-speed MultiMediaCard (MMC) standards that feature the highest data transfer rates among all existing memory card standards.
MMCplus(TM) cards in the standard-size MultiMediaCard form factor (32 x 24 x 1.4mm), while MMCmobile(TM) cards come in the reduced-size MMC form factor (18 x 24 x 1.4mm). When operating at 26MHz and the optional 52MHz clock frequencies in x8 bit mode, MMCplus and MMCmobile cards can attain a maximum data transfer rate of 26MB/sec and 52MB/sec, respectively.
