Sandisk Transflash used in Motorola v710

ATLANTA, GA, MARCH 22, 2004 – SanDisk Corporation (NASDAQ:SNDK) announced today that its new TransFlash (formerly T-Flash) storage device will be used in Motorola's new V710, a megapixel multimedia mobile phone that was introduced today at the annual CTIA (Cellular Telecommunications & Internet Association) Show. SanDisk made the announcement at the show where it is demonstrating products in booth #655.

The new Motorola CDMA phone has an integrated MP3 player and a 1.2 megapixel camera with video capture and playback and will include a TransFlash slot for memory upgrades. Consumers will have the option to upgrade their phone memory with 32, 64 or 128MB TransFlash memory modules.

Rex Sabio, TransFlash OEM product manager at SanDisk, said, "TransFlash was designed for full-featured, storage-intensive multimedia phones such as the Motorola V710. We expect that many consumers are going to need the increased storage capacity of our TransFlash memory modules to capture and store still images, video, audio and data on the model V710.''

TransFlash, which SanDisk introduced in February, 2004, is the worlds smallest removable flash memory storage format. Its tiny size (11mm x 15mm x 1mm) represents approximately one quarter of the volume of the smallest removable flash cards available on the market today.
Motorola noted that the model V710, which also has integrated Bluetooth technology, is expected to be available in the second half of 2004 in North America.
